IVES
On an Ives HIGH right now. I’m in the middle of writing my 15 page research essay on Ives and Ragtime and I’m running out of steam. Please get me through the next 6 pages!

Self esteem
Perhaps the most important lesson that I have learned this year is that of self value.
Learn to congratulate yourself. No one else will.

Acceptances and Rejections
My mother told me that facing rejections is difficult, but really only if you do not also achieve successes.
I have been accepted to one MM program and rejected by another. I am expecting one more rejection from a higher reach school the one from which I received my first rejection, and one acceptance from my current school. I am not sure whether I will be accepted into the other two programs to which I applied. Only time will tell.

ABA
going to ABA tomorrow! I am excited to perform with my school’s wind ensemble, under the direction of various conductors. We’ve been rehearsing non-stop for weeks, and I think we’re actually sounding pretty decent…We had the honor of working with Ray Cramer today, on a piece honoring his late daughter Heather Reu. Will will perform this, among other repertoire, tomorrow at the American Band Directors’ Association national convention in Indianapolis.

concert # 2
Just performed Dances of Galanta with Chamber Orchestra tonight. Second concert of the month down, only 2 more to go. Marathon of events coming up. 5 grad school auditions, 4 large ensemble concerts, two ad hoc ensemble concerts. What next? Oh right, all of those theory essays every week.
